Public Infrastructure

The Tennessee Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations (TACIR) contracts annually with the Northwest Tennessee Development District to conduct Public Infrastructure Needs Inventory Surveys within the District.  By conducting interviews with city, county, and school officials each year, the surveys are updated to insure an accurate listing of past infrastructure needs and identification of new projects.  With each annual update, the TACIR database becomes a more reliable source of infrastructure needs in the District.  At the same time, the update provides the basic information to update the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Report required annually by the Federal Economic Development Administration.  TACIR publishes an annual report made available to local governments and school systems.
