Solid Waste

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), Division of Solid Waste Management contracts annually with the NWTDD Planning Department to provide solid waste planning assistance to local officials.  The Planning Department staff assists county Solid Waste Directors, Solid Waste Advisory Boards, county elected officials, and solid waste recyclers in implementing each Regional Solid Waste Management Plan.  The Planning Department staff also assists with annual solid waste reports, assessment needs inventories, recycling and waste tire grants, county household hazardous waste events as well as educational events in each county.  For more on Solid Waste Assistance click here.
